NTN Powder Metal Corporation which is NTN consolidated subsidiaries won the "New technology development prize" *in the machine materials and Processing division from the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers

Material development of composite sintered BEARPHITE formed different materials integrated molding
Technical Overview
We succeeded in developing the forming method which integrates two different materials called two-color molding for the first time in the world. By using the two-color molding and optimizing sintering condition, we developed BEARPHITE which has high hardness and abrasion resistant material in inner layer, and high strength structure materials in outer layer
Multi Layer BEARPHITE
Winning reason
Multi Layer BEARPHITE that was developed to improve its abrasion resistant is expected to contribute to make dramatic progress in industrial technology. Multi Layer BEARPHITE became stronger than Journal bearing which was used for joints of large industrial machinery and vehicles such as hydraulic shovels.

The introduction of large molded press
Conventionally, the largest pressurized pressure capability of the molding press that we was 120 tons. Now we introduced a molding press which has 400 tons maximum pressure capability.
We also can form large sintered products which are over φ100 by using technology of manufacturing precision instrument.
